My fitness journey began In New York more than 30 years ago.  Upon graduation from college I found myself out of shape and overweight.  This led me to change my life. I would like to help you begin your journey into fitness and reach your fitness goals.  Whether you are new to fitness or want to take you fitness level up a notch I can design a program and work with you.
I am ACE certified as a Personal Trainer and as a Group Exercise Instructor.  I am also certified in Golden Hearts to work with the Senior Population.
I teach many kinds of classes from Step, Zumba, RIPPED, Bodypump and Bootcamp to Cycle classes.  I have competed as a BodyBuilder and have worked with sports teams conditioning the athletes. I have helped people all over the world change their lives thru exercise.
Karen Forest

Karen grew up in Contoocook and graduated from Boston University with degrees in Political Science and International Relations.  

She began playing flat-track roller derby in 2008 after a random encounter at a fourth of July BBQ with a member of the DC Rollergirls.  She was Instantly hooked!  Karen now helps to manage a team in Concord called the Granite State Roller Derby.  

After years of skating and becoming increasingly competitive, she wanted to learn how to increase her performance, avoid injury and train better.

She became a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Training and learned how to safely train in order to receive specific results.  This knowledge is now used to guide teammates and clients to boost their athletic potential and stay injury free.

If Karen is not at the gym training or working out, she can be found walking trails with her German Shepard, Sascha.  For Karen, being a personal trainer is not just a job, it is a lifestyle.  After years if pushing papers at a desk job, she loves being able to move and inspire others to move.

Motivation comes from a sense of progress, so she works with clients to set short-term, measurable goals.  For some, the journey o getting fit may seem insurmountable, but when you start with just one small step at a time, you can and will get there!
Liz Durant

Greetings!  I began my fitness career later in life, shortly after running my first marathon at age 40.  Up until then I was in the field of finance and accounting, and an involved community member raising my three children.  I had been active my entire life, playing soccer, lacrosse, tennis, swimming and skiing so moving into the field of fitness training was a natural transition.

I developed a passion for helping others reach their fitness goals after I began training other runners for races, from 5k’s to marathons.  In 2005, I became a Certified Personal Trainer and worked in a brand new, state of the art, fitness facility in Memphis, TN. It was there that my love for supporting, teaching and guiding clients of all ages and fitness levels was solidified.  In 2006, I became a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and brought my commitment and enthusiasm to the group fitness arena.  I then became a certified Les Mills’ Instructor in Body Pump in2007.  I currently teach indoor cycling, pilates /core and instruct at various locations in the Concord area.

As a wellness and fitness coach, I enjoy creating plans for both individuals and small groups, working hard to make you, the client, feel safe, successful and able to pursue the activities you enjoy.  My goal is to work with what you love to do, encourage you to try new activities, and strengthen you physically, mentally and emotionally enabling you to reach your goals.

I work with all ages and fitness levels-from the individual coming back from a fitness hiatus or injury, to a competitive or recreational athlete who has specific goals in mind, to a young adult looking for support to develop healthy fitness habits.

Over the past 9 years, I have continued to pursue my avocation of running by completing 19 marathons and numerous other races, including 6 triathlons.  I have coached and continue to officiate soccer, lacrosse and field hockey.  I look forward to working with members here at Storms and am happy to answer any questions you may have!
Jay White, ATC; CSCS Certified

Jay is a recent graduate of Merrimack College where he studied and became a Certified Athletic Trainer.  Over the course if his time at Merrimack College he worked with a wide array of Division II sports and the school's Division I Hockey Team.  As a Student Athletic Trainer, he prepped athletes for competition, evaluated injured athletes and rehabbed athletes back to full strength.  Jay played four years of Division II football at Merrimack.  He has extensie knowledge of resistance training, plyometric training, conditioning and rehabilitative exercise programs. 

If you are an athlete wanting to get bigger, stronger and faster; if you are someone trying to regain strength after an injury or surgery; if you are someone trying to change your fitness level, Jay can help design a fitness regiment to help you achieve your goals.  Going to the gym is a passion ofr Jay and he would love to mae it a passion of yours as well.
Arlene McGrath

Arlene enjoys the friendship, spirit, and support of personal training and small group fitness.  A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Arlene understands the challenges many people face in finding time for fitness.  Arlene can help you design a fitness plan to accommodate your busy life.  Her biggest thrill is helping fitness friends reduce their numbers-blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar!

Arlene lives in Hopkinton with her husband George and their three children.  In addition to Storms Fitness, Arlene also enjoys her fitness adventures with apm fitness and teaching at New England College.  She loves to spend time with her family, especially in the great outdoors.  Arlene can also be found on the sidelines coaching her children’s sports teams.

Maris Recently retired after 40 years as an Occupational Therapist specializing in orthopedics and neurology rehabilitation.  Upon retirement she became both a certified personal trainer and a certified yoga instructor.  She loves to use her yoga classes to help individuals with restrictive movement enjoy the beauty and therapeutic benefits of yoga.  Her personalized traiing programs reflkect your goals, fitness level and pace.

Maris loves being active, and her interests include hiking, biking swimming, woodworking and XC skiing.  She recentlky completed hiking all 48 of the White Mountain 4000-footers.  Clink here for more information.
