YIN & YANG YOGA
Upstairs on Saturday Mornings at 8:30
This yoga class is a blend of yoga styles. Gentle
opening stretches help to wake the body and coax the fascia to allow for
greater ease of movement. Active in poses to warm strengthen the
Yin poses, held for longer time increments, target the deep, dense
connective tissues of the body, along with the body’s “energetic highways,” or
meridians emphasized in traditional Chinese medicine.
Emphasis is placed on how the pose feels for you. If you can sit on the floor,
this class can be useful for you. Bring a blanket that will serve as both a
prop for poses that challenge and a bit of warmth in the final resting pose.
